What guides us

Our Vision & Mission

We are building a focused environmental services platform — one acquisition, done right — rooted in long-term ownership, technical credibility, and deep customer relationships.

OUR VISION

Build a leading environmental services platform

To acquire and grow one exceptional business in air pollution monitoring or air pollution control — and become the long-term operational partner it deserves. Not a holding company. Not a flip. A platform built to last.

OUR MISSION

Partner with founders to grow the right way

We buy and operate one environmental services business and partner with its founder to protect what they've built, support the team, and grow through disciplined execution, trusted relationships, and a genuine understanding of the work.

OUR FOCUS

What We Are Building

Our primary focus is air — emissions monitoring and air pollution control. We're also selectively open to water treatment and waste management businesses that share the same profile: compliance-driven, recurring revenue, essential services.

01
AIR POLLUTION MONITORING

Keep Facilities in Compliance

CEMS integration, stack testing, RATA certification, QA/QC plan management, DAHS reporting, and quarterly EDR filing — the full compliance lifecycle under 40 CFR Parts 60, 63, and 75.

  • - NOx, opacity, and flow CO, SO monitoring

  • - Extractive and in-situ system expertise

  • - NetDAHS-style DAHS and regulatory reporting

  • - Refineries, utilities, pharma, manufacturing

02

WATER & WASTE (EXPANDING TAM)

Adjacent Compliance Markets

Selectively open to water treatment and waste management businesses with the same core profile — non-discretionary compliance demand, recurring revenue, and an essential services model.

  • - Industrial wastewater treatment and compliance

  • - Waste-to-energy and biomass APC integration

  • - Hazardous waste handling and field services

  • - Same financial and team profile as air targets

BUSINESS PROFILE

What We Look For in a Partner

Strong fundamentals. Loyal customers. A founder who is proud of what they've built and wants a trusted partner to carry it forward.

NON-DISCRETIONARY

Essential, Compliance-Driven Services

CEMS certification, QA/QC, RATA support, quarterly EDR filing, pollution control maintenance — work facilities cannot defer without regulatory consequence.

CUSTOMER DEPTH

Trusted, Long-Tenured Relationships

Customers who call you first when something breaks or a permit deadline approaches — across refineries, utilities, pharma, food processing.

RECURRING REVENUE

Predictable Revenue Base

Service contracts, maintenance programs, annual RATA testing — revenue anchored in regulatory obligation, not dependent on project wins.

FINANCIAL PROFILE

$1.5M+ EBITDA

Profitable, established operation with a track record. We want to acquire a business with proven operational depth and customer demand.

TEAM QUALITY

Field-Certified Technicians

40 CFR Part 60/75 experienced, OEM-agnostic technicians who know how to run a RATA, service an RTO, or troubleshoot a DAHS. The team is the business.

MARKET POSITION

Regional Market Leadership

Dominant presence in a defined geography. Being the local expert for a facility's environmental team is a moat that takes years to build.

OUR VALUES

Simple Principles That Guide Every Decision

A

ACCURACY

Get it right, every time

In emissions monitoring, a wrong number has regulatory consequences. We hold the same standard across everything — data, commitments, and communication.

B

BASICS

Win by executing the fundamentals

Responsive service. Clean QA/QC. Honest reporting. The blocking and tackling of disciplined operations — no shortcuts, no overcomplication.

C

COMMITMENT

Long-term ownership over short-term wins

We invest in our people, honor the legacy of the business, and stay the course. Regulatory credibility takes decades to build — we protect it.

GROWTH PLAYBOOK

How We Build Value After Acquisition

We acquire one business and build it into something durable — through operational discipline, customer trust, and strategic expansion.

AIR POLLUTION MONITORING

  • Compliance-Driven, Non-Discretionary Demand

40 CFR obligations — RATA testing, EDR submission, QA/QC plan adherence — don't disappear in a recession. We build around the regulatory cycle, becoming the environmental team's trusted resource.

  • Embedded Compliance Partnership

The difference between a vendor and a partner is whether a facility's environmental manager calls you when they receive a notice of violation. We prioritize accuracy and responsiveness to earn that call.

  • DAHS as a Platform for Expansion

Data acquisition and handling — live dashboards, automated EDR submission, multi-site management — is increasingly the center of a facility's environmental workflow. We invest here to increase value per customer.

  • Regional Density Before National Scale

We grow within key regions first — compounding technician utilization, shortening response windows, and building the local reputation that turns referrals into organic pipeline.

WHY NOW

The CEMS market is consolidating fast. Independent firms with strong compliance track records have a limited window to find a long-term partner before the market narrows further.

WHAT WE WON'T DO

We won't replace key technicians, let certification lapse, or cut corners on QA/QC. Regulatory credibility takes decades to build — we protect it.

FIELD SERVICING & APC

  • OEM-Agnostic Expertise as a Moat

Facilities don't care who manufactured their RTO — they care who can keep it running. We invest in manufacturer-independent expertise across RTOs, RCOs, WESPs, and scrubbers.

  • Aftermarket Lifecycle Revenue

Installation gets you in the door. The real value is captured in inspections, rebuilds, upgrades, utility optimization, parts, and emergency response across a system's full life.

  • Emergency Response as a Relationship Builder

When a facility's thermal oxidizer trips offline, Title V violations don't wait. Being the company that shows up fast earns long-term contracts no sales pitch can replicate.

INDUSTRIES WE UNDERSTAND

Automotive, pharmaceutical, food processing, ethanol, printing, pulp and paper, specialty chemical, refinery — if your customers need clean air compliance, we know the landscape.

ABOUT GREG

A Different Kind of Acquirer

Greg started his career in local TV news — not the background most acquirers have. It shaped how he approaches business: ask good questions, listen closely, and earn trust before anything else.

Over the last decade he worked at BCG advising service businesses, and then spent 8.5 years at Amazon Web Services partnering with businesses and operators on growth. At AWS he worked alongside teams building and operating large-scale infrastructure — which gave him early exposure to the permitting, energy, and environmental compliance questions that are increasingly relevant to this space. He's not a CEMS engineer, but he's been in the room with the people who are.

Today Greg is focused on finding one great environmental services business and being the partner it deserves — someone who will invest the time to understand the work, support the team, and grow the business the right way.

Partnering with NextGen Growth Partners

NGP is a private equity fund that acquires founder-owned B2B service businesses and operates them for the long term. This isn't a flip — it's a platform built to last.

AWS & DATA CENTER BACKGROUND

Greg's time at AWS included exposure to the infrastructure and permitting questions data centers face. It's not deep technical expertise, but enough to know what questions to ask and who to call.

INDUSTRY TAILWIND

Why the Data Center Boom Is Good for Environmental Services

The hyperscale infrastructure buildout underway across the U.S. is one of the largest drivers of new industrial permitting activity in a generation — flowing directly into demand for air monitoring and APC services. Greg spent 8.5 years at AWS working alongside the infrastructure teams navigating exactly these compliance challenges.

icon

New Facilities, New Permits

Every new hyperscale data center comes with backup generators, cooling systems, and on-site power that require Title V air permits and ongoing CEMS compliance.

icon

Power Generation Drives Monitoring Demand

Co-located gas turbines and peaker plants create sustained, long-term CEMS service contracts — the most durable revenue profile in the industry.

icon

Regulatory Scrutiny Is Only Increasing

State and local regulators are tightening air quality requirements on data center campuses specifically — A&WMA held a dedicated conference on this in 2025.
